Sustainability

Zero Waste. Just Great Mugs.

Traditional manufacturing works like this: a factory makes ten thousand products, ships them to a warehouse, ships them to a shop, and hopes someone buys them. A lot of the time, they don’t. The result? Pallets of unloved mugs, bottles, tumblers etc., mountains of packaging, and enough wasted energy to power Cornwall for a week.

We do things differently.

Made When You Order It. Not Before.

Every single CornishMug is printed the moment you place your order. No warehouses stuffed with stock nobody wants. No end-of-season clearance. No landfill. Your item didn’t exist until you decided the world needed it in your life — and honestly, that feels right.

What Print-on-Demand Actually Does for the Planet

  • No overproduction — We never make more than we sell. Not one extra item.
  • No dead stock — If it’s not ordered, it’s not made. Radical concept, we know.
  • Fewer pointless journeys — Products go direct from printer to your door. No bulk shipping to a warehouse to a shop to you.
  • Less water waste — Sublimation printing skips the water-hungry dyeing processes used in traditional manufacturing.
  • Smaller supply chain, smaller footprint — Every step we cut out is a step that doesn’t burn fuel.

The Honest Bit

We’re not going to stand here and tell you that printing and shipping mugs, bottles, tumblers etc. produces zero emissions — it doesn’t, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something (besides mugs). But compared to the old way of making thousands of items and crossing fingers, print-on-demand is genuinely kinder to the planet. And we’re always looking at ways to do better.

Packaging

Minimal. Recyclable. No polystyrene peanuts, no oversized boxes with a mug rattling around inside. Just enough to get your order to you safely — and no more.

The Takeaway

When you buy a CornishMug, you’re getting something made specifically for you — not pulled from a shelf of five hundred identical mugs that may never find a home. That’s not just good taste. That’s good sense.

From Kernow, with a clear conscience. ☕
